My pal, Nick Kupsey shares this childhood story hoping to convey a sense of both wonder and the hidden dangers kids can encounter that can change their lives.

Once my brother Nick and I got home that evening, we immediately informed momma Scamuff of this incident as instructed by the Police Chief. She immediately said we were grounded. We tried pleading our case, but to no avail. We weren’t even involved, but that didn’t matter to her. We were there so we were guilty. So remember kids, you’ll eventually learn about “being guilty by association”, and it’ll probably be learnt the hard way.
